The Security Passport program consists of a criminal background check, Security Passport photo ID card distributed by Safety Council, and an integrated central database for verification. All parties involved with the Security Passport program adhere to a strict privacy policy and commit to all reasonable levels of security and integrity. The Security Passport program is a tool which allows employers to better manage their workforce by performing criminal background screenings. The program was developed over the last several years by a task force composed of members of the Industrial Contractors Council, Greater Baton Rouge Industrial Manager's Association and the Safety Council. The intent of the Security Passport is to create and maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Many Greater Baton Rouge area chemical plants, refineries, and manufacturers accept the Security Passport for the contractor workforce that services and maintains their facilities. The number of facilities accepting Security Passport continues to grow.
