Department of Transportation (DOT) and
Resource & Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance training for you and/or your employees will be held at the Safety Council in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, June 30th. A half-day is devoted to each topic, and attendees can come for one or both classes.
The DOT class is designed for employees who have any contact whatsoever with hazardous materials, whether in shipping or handling. This training is good for three years and meets the DOT HazMat general awareness requirements.
The RCRA class will teach employees how to identify hazardous waste, proper waste management procedures, as well as documentation, emergency preparedness and release reporting. This class is not the same as HAZWOPER training, but fulfills the employer training requirement for those who generate ANY volume of hazardous waste.
