By your request, the Safety Council is now offering Trenching & Excavation Safety –
Competent Person class every month.This class is an exciting way to bring your
company into compliance with OSHA’s Trenching & Excavation Standard.
Enroll your employees and help avoid costly OSHA fines.
Some of the topics covered include:

- Requirements for a "Competent Person" on excavation sites;
- How to properly conduct soil tests (visual & manual);
- How to understand OSHA regulations for shoring, sloping & benching, and trench boxes;
- How to identify and control hazardous atmospheres lurking inside of trenches; and,
- How to handle OSHA inspections at your trenching & excavation site.
The next class will take place on August 21st. The cost for this 7-hour course for Safety
Council members is $175; and, $275 for non-members.
