TWIC
Enrollment Improvements |

| Good news is in store
for our members required to enroll for the
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
(TWIC). Recent adjustments to the system will
speed up the process of enrolling for the TWIC
card. |
In response to
concerns from local companies, the Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) and Lockheed Martin
have taken steps to improve the Baton Rouge
enrollment center's procedures. Changes
include:
Increasing the number of enrollment stations
in the Baton Rouge area from three to six.
Converting one station to a dedicated card
issuance station to speed up card pick-ups.
Bringing in I.T. specialists to re-configure
the connection to the servers to improve server
access and performance.
Hiring more employees, including a greeter, to
help facilitate processing personnel.
Accepting company checks and company credit
cards (Visa or MasterCard) for processing multiple
payments. Credit cards may be put on file in the
Baton Rouge office along with a list of employees
eligible to use the credit card to pay for their
TWIC card.
Adjusting online scheduling to allow for more
appointments. |

The TWIC card is
required for all personnel needing unescorted
access to secure areas of Maritime Transportation
Security Act (MTSA) regulated facilities and/or
vessels and all mariners holding Coast Guard
issued credentials or qualification documents. The
TWIC enrollment offices are located in the lobby
at the Safety Council and are open Monday through
Friday, from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and every
2nd and 4th Saturday of every month from 6:30 a.m.
until 3:00 p.m.
